Fishing from our boats

Are youstaying at Toue en Toue Cabanée and would like to fish directly from the boat? You don’t need a fishing licence to fish, but you can fish “no kill”. All the fish you catch must be released back into the Demoiselles pond.

Fishing in the Loire

It’s perfectly possible to fish in the Loire. Due to the transport of sand, and possible variations in water levels, this area has been abandoned by anglers in favor of easier, less dangerous routes. The Loire is mainly home to catfish, which have largely colonized this part of the river.

Fishing in the canal

Close to the Village Toue du domaine des Demoiselles, you can walk to the Roanne-Digoin canal for a spot of fishing. The canal is classified as^2nd category, with a width of around 18 meters, and is relatively shallow at around 1.5 meters.

Canal fishing is relatively easy, as the water is relatively uniform in depth, and there are no currents or major obstacles. All fishing techniques can be used. The canal from Roanne to Digoin is home to a large population of pike-perch and carp, some of them very large. Night fishing for carp is possible all year round.

Good to know: fishing is prohibited within 50 meters of a lock.

Regulations for legal fishing

General obligations

Anyone who fishes must have a fishing licence. The purchase of such a card automatically implies that the holder becomes a member of an AAPPMA (Association Agréée pour la Pêche et la Protection du Milieu Aquatique). This card can be purchased online at macartedepeche.fr or through the network of local fishing card vendors. Near our unusual village, you can buy a fishing card from the AAPPMA de la Gaule digoinaise, or at the Decathlon store in Digoin, Saône-et-Loire.

Legal fishing hours

Fishing is permitted a maximum of 30 minutes before sunrise and 30 minutes after sunset. Solar calendar time applies.

Night fishing for carp is authorized on certain routes only. This is the case on the canal from Roanne to Digoin. Please note: All fish caught at night must be released.

A few useful tips
