- Visit Limoges: Originally a Roman colony, Limoges’ first riches came from tin and lead, then gold and copper. Also worth a visit are the superb botanical gardens, the impressive church towers and bell towers of St Michel-des-Lions and the beautiful stone sculptures of the Cathédrale Saint-Etienne.
