Here are a few ideas for things to do in the Monédières region, in the magnificent Corrèze département:

1: Hiking :

The Monédières region offers numerous hiking trails, including the Saut du Loup circuit. A 7km circuit, which takes you to the most beautiful panorama of the medieval town of Treignac. Hike along the banks of the Vézère river, then through woods and meadows, finishing with a dip in Lac des Bariousses, a Blue Flag-rated bathing spot. This is one of the department’s must-see hiking trails, and is just 10 minutes from our unusual village of Les Monédières. This trail will enable you to discover the Monédières and its flora and fauna.

2: MOUNTAIN BIKING :

Mountain bikers can explore the Monédières on the many paths and tracks adapted to this activity, thanks to the many signposted circuits and mountain bike bases in Corrèze.

3: Canoeing and kayaking

The region’s rivers, such asthe Dordogne, Vézère, Corrèze and Diège, offer excellent canoeing and kayaking opportunities. There are many routes to choose from, as well as the possibility of renting equipment on site.

4: Fishing

The region’s rivers are also great for fishing, with a variety of fish such as trout, salmon and barbel, and a variety of techniques to suit all tastes. Fly fishing or predator fishing. Around the Villages des Monédières, discover the charming medieval villages of the area, such as Chamberet, which is within walking distance. Take your car and discover the villages of Turenne and Collonges-la-Rouge, classified as the most beautiful villages in France. These listed villages are renowned for their medieval architecture and history.

7: Castles tour

There are no castles in the Monédières region that can be visited by the general public. However, if you take your car, you can explore some of Corrèze’s castles: Château de Turenne, Tours de Merle, Château de Pompadour and the Orangerie stables, Château de Val and Château de Ventadour. These sites are well worth a visit for their architecture, their natural setting and their history.

8: Tasting of local products

The Monédières region is what we call a “blueberry country”. “a blueberry-growing area Because of the favorable climate and soil conditions. They are picked on summer mornings, with a comb, and eaten in pie, jam or syrup. Don’t miss the chance to taste an apple juice or cider made from apples picked in our unusual Monédières village. In the heart of theMonédières arboretum (accessible on foot from the village of Monédières), treat yourself to a tree-climbing session. 50 workshops, with zip lines, Nepalese bridges, barrels, net bridges and many more.
